News Curator: Police shooting of black teen in Missouri focus of federal inquiry

As tensions roiled a St. Louis suburb on Monday, the FBI and the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division have opened separate investigations into the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager that sparked a night of vandalism and looting, officials said.
U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a statement that he believes the shooting in Ferguson “deserves fulsome review”  and he wants the federal inquiry to “supplement, not supplant” the investigation by local police in Missouri.
